This is a strange issue I have come across. I have a Reliance  India dial up internet connection which i access thru my nokia phone and an original nokia data cable.

Of late when i log on to the internet ...my machine hangs up. I looked at this windows task manager and found a process named SVCHOST.EXE consuming my CPU upto 100 % !!! It is shown as a system process. when i m off the internet the machine works all fine.

I tried some basic troubleshooting by removing all unnecessary softwares.. did a full system scan with my updated CA Antivirus 3 times...did a system restore... ran spyware detection software from spybot... but no clues  !!!

There are two instances of this exe file i mentioned above in the process tab of the task manager.

Is there some registry which might be corrupt  or some system file is bad of some virus/worm which is undetected by CA of microsoft also ???? Any help.
